Matt, Foreman, and their hardworking crew found a solution to the "nuisance water" that for years had been pooling in our backyard from an uphill neighbor's underground spring--to the tune of 90 gallons a day!--with calm resolve. After putting this project off for way too long, we couldn't be more pleased with the results. They did the job quickly and were very meticulous in their cleanup. They replaced a 37 year old 60 ft collapsing retaining wall that was the only thing keeping a hillside from sliding into the side of my garage and replaced it with an impressive block wall with a new drainage system. The new wall is so sturdy that I can actually walk along the top of it. Will definitely use them again for future projects.

Matt tackled my hillside retaining wall project with enthusiasm, solid project management experience, and excellent communication skills. They made sure I knew their schedule for the day, what part of the project they were working on, and what they were going to accomplish. They were very respectful, cleaned up the work area every day, and when finished, left me with a beautiful stone, retaining wall. Matt Mahoney with Solves All Engineering put my mind at ease immediately. A general engineer by profession, Matt started talking solutions from the get-go, not trying to “sell” me his service. (He also worked within my budget and didn't eye me like a dollar sign, either.) Matt proposed a multipronged solution, digging a trench alongside and below the foundation wall, sealing gaps and waterproofing the outside of the foundation, placing a sump pump inside the trench to drain underground water away from the house, and then filling the trench with porous rocks compatible with existing landscaping. Matt and his crew showed up on time, completed the job on schedule, took care to clean up the work area, and stayed on budget. As proof of concept, Matt took a garden hose and flooded the rock-covered trench to simulate a heavy rain. As the trench started to fill with water, the electric sump pump turned on automatically, piping the water onto our driveway where it ran to the street. Perfect!

Matt and his team overall did a fantastic job. Attention to detail with providing the initial survey to ensure the drainage ditch had sufficient slope for water flow. Matt is easy to work with and we appreciated his follow-up to ensure the water flow during the recent storms.

They did a great job on my retaining wall that gave me a lot more space to use in my backyard. I will definitely recommend them to any of my friends and relatives . Matt and his crew have an unusual combination of qualities for a contractor. Not only are they extremely knowledgeable, professional, and do quality work, they are RESPONSIVE, HONEST and TRUSTWORTHY. The jobsite was always kept impeccably clean. Matt genuinely cares about the quality of work he leaves behind. A lot of contractors take their final check and go - but Matt is as responsive now (even though the job is complete) as he was before the job started. I trust Matt and his team in my home and with my family. I will be hiring him again and would not hesitate to refer him to family and friends.

Matt ripped out my old patio and built a deck for me last summer. They were quick and did a great job.
